One of the main features of the fleet of the Russian Federation is the presence of a large number of brands in its structure. The entire volume of cars registered in the country’s park is represented by 166 stamps with broad geography, from America to China to Australia. And such a variety is a kind of challenge for those companies that work in the after-sales service market, Alexander Gruzdev, head of Gruzdev-Analyze, believes. «It is difficult to work in the market, because if there are 166 brands, then the models are still more,» he notes. — In addition, all these models are differentiated for generations and as wells. «
Classify and analyze the park
In order to analyze the composition of the Russian park of passenger cars, you can simplify the situation with the number of brands and remove 107 brands in the «Other» category. All of these 107 stamps are less than 10,000 cars each, and their inexpensive park is only 0.003% of the total car park.
«There are 20 automotive brands, each of which has a park of cars in the amount of up to 100 thousand units.,» Alexander continues. — In this category, brands such as Infiniti, Jeep, Porsche, Jaguar fall into this category. But these 20 stamps account for only 2% of the entire Russian fleet. «
Thus, 98% of the park occupy the brands that have more than 100,000 cars. And such brands — 39. And if you segmented further, it turns out that over the past year, only 22 brands of analyst «Avtostat Info» recorded sales of new machines in the amount of more than 1000 units. And at 28 — in general there were any new sales. «Of these, 11 stamps are brands whose cars were once actively sold in the Russian market, and during their account in those years and Ros Ros Park of the country — explains Alexander. «Now many of them have already gone from the sales market for new cars.» So, for example, cars «Gas» are no longer produced and not sold, and used to be sold in solid volumes. That is, in the park there are still many such cars, but they are all very age-related, and since new cars «gas» is no longer for sale, the share of such cars in the fleet is constantly decreasing.
As a result, only 22 stamps remain in the fleet of Russia, which show quite high activity in the market of new cars, as well as in general 28 brands, followed by any sales in general.
«Of these 22 active brands — two Russian Lada brand and» UAZ «, and the remaining 20 — foreign cars,» Alexander clarifies. «Then it turns out that two Russian stamps occupy 33% in the Russian fleet, and for 20 stamps of foreign producers there are almost 51% of the park.»
And if we consider the park in the country of origin of the brand, it turns out that 18% of the entire park falls on 7 Japanese brands: Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Suzuki, Lexus, Datsun. Twice smaller share (9%) occupy two Korean brands Hyundai and Kia. Four German brand have a park of 3.4 million cars. Other European brands (except in Germany) make up 3.1 million machines. And less than 3 million cars in the park are cars of two American brands Chevrolet and Ford. The park of these brands in the future, most likely, will show minor growth rates, since the Chevrolet in Russia has only a limited range of cars with very high price tags, and Ford leaves the Russian car market at all. «Thus, in the near future, both of these brands will cease their development in the context of the fleet,» said Alexander.
What is noteworthy, in the list of active brands, albeit at the very end, there is a Chinese brand Geely. That is, the registered park of this brand already exceeds 100 thousand cars, and it will continue to grow, as sales of the brand exceed 1000 units. Auto over the past year.

Thus, it turns out that, although the fleet of Russia consists of 33% of the cars of domestic brands, Asian brands are actively catching up (their share is 27%), and the «European» still lag behind with a share of 16%.
